TAKANORI
FUJIWARA

Takanori Fujiwara is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Arizona, where he co-directs the Data Representation Laboratory (D-REP Lab). His research interests span network science, machine learning, and visual analytics, with a particular focus on developing interactive dimensionality reduction methods and exploring the use of 3D spaces and interfaces for high-dimensional data analysis.

He received his B.E. (2009) and M.S. in Environmental Studies (2011) from the University of Tokyo, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis (2021), where he was a member of the VIDI Labs (led by Dr. Kwan-Liu Ma). Following his Ph.D., he worked at the Division for Media and Information Technology (led by Dr. Anders Ynnerman) and the Information Visualization Group (chaired by Dr. Andreas Kerren) at Linköping University, Sweden. From 2011 to 2015, he was with Kajima Corporation, a leading construction company in Japan.
